Amenitized Housing Estates
Location: Southeast Asia
As populations within Southeast Asia begin to urbanize and increase in wealth with rising incomes, the need to establish settlements outside major cities in proximity to natural and manmade amenities and job generating nodes related to industry and commerce, increases. Combining the two to create the equivalent of “company towns” provides for an efficient means to house growing populations in mixed use settlements with easy means of access to jobs and recreation.
Opportunities for economic development in regions where tourism can be established for domestic market consumption as well as regional are numerous and must be designed so as not to negatively impact the natural settings which make them attractive in the first place.
Jobs and industry require allowances for production that make the presence of housing often a challenge. Designing communities that retain the local job population within their boundaries is a potent antidote to green house gas emissions and carbon loading.
